- Better than I expected
Teeter's customer service was absolutely excellent.
I had a bad herniated disk and this actually worked wonderfully. I had one instance where it slipped and was extremely painful. I got right on the L5, and it fixed it in just one day. I was really impressed. Normally I would have had to drive 6 hours to get treatment that would have cost as much as this machine cost. So it paid for itself in this one instance.
I highly recommend the Contour L5. Works great and the construction is very solid. I feel completely safe using it.
- Feel Great To Invert
Lower back pain was something I'd never experienced or worried about, but when it suddenly became a debilitating issue, I was desperate for relief. We happened to record an advertisement on TV while taping some other programs on the DVR, and the minute I saw the ad, I felt like that would provide the relief that physical therapy stretches, massages, ice packs, and basic rest had not. The minute I inverted for the first time, I said, "This feels so good!" I have always been very active with skiing, hiking, and exercise classes, and the Teeter is something I plan to continue doing from now on.
- Near Miracle Device
I have had the L5 for a year now. I have deteriorated lower disc in spine and partial in mid back. For several years due to an accident I would occasionally move wrong and the disc would go out of alignment. This also happened occasionally from simple everyday movements. I am in fairly good shape overall and only 55 years young. I am very active so when these spinal mishaps occurred they would often cause such debilitating pain I simply had to stay down. Even when I was not experiencing the worst of pains as in the above scenario, nearly every day I would feel a dull aching in the lower spinal areas.
Over the years since the accident I have gone to several chiropractors and had x-rays confirming the deteriorating disc. Though the adjustments helped they did not alleviate the pain for long. I own my own firm and with my very busy schedule it was also just not practical for me to be able to go to a doctor's office for adjustments 2 to 3 times a week.
I bought the L5 ltd unit after returning a different model. The reason for the return of the other model was the way the ankle braces unlatched with a "pull up" style spring pin. It was very difficult when your back is hurting to reach that far down at an incline and undo your legs to exit the unit. It was also more work entering the unit. The L5 ltd model I now have has a long stainless steel extended handle with a simple to use push button release and smooth ratchet lock system that is so very easy to get in and out. It also locks comfortably with a click you can hear and you know you are on for a safe ride backwards.
Literally after 5 to 10 minutes of inversion at anywhere from 40% to 90% (not fully inverted but close) I feel an immediate relief from pain. Often I can feel and even hear the lower disk going back in place and it is needless to say, a wonderful experience. Though nothing outside of surgery will remedy my deteriorated disc altogether, this unit has allowed me to free myself form 90 % of the pain and allows me to be very active again, kayaking all day, biking, hiking mountains, etc. I feel it will also afford me more time while new medical spinal procedures are refined over the next few years, such as disk replacement today is gaining high reviews compared to the old disc fusion of the past. The future looks bright but I want to avoid surgery until I feel an absolute need and the L5 makes this possible.
This unit is well built and very sleek, looking great in any office or home. It is a modern black and gray and looks of executive quality. Simple to put together and very easy and smooth to use. It offers a "Zen like" yoga experience when you use it as I do with the lights turned down low and soft music playing. I actually look forward to using it as it offers me a moment of true stress relief along with the absence of pain. When I use this right before going to bed, I find I sleep better and wake more refreshed. A good bed is also a must and believe me you deserve both.
I do not recommend starting at full inversion on your first run as this can give someone a "first use" bad experience with head pressure. I started for one month at only 25% incline and had relief. I moved up to 40% in the second month then in the third month to 90%. Your body and blood pressures will acclimate over time and now I barely notice any pressure when inclined at 90%. I have not found the need to go full inversion as yet but I will try it in the new year. I did find relief from day one at only 25% inversion and I never experienced any headaches with this "gentle start approach". I have had some of my friends try the unit (One is a great chiropractor) and they immediately found it helpful. My chiropractor friend stated simply "this device just makes scientific sense." He too enjoyed it the first time he tried it and found relief immediately. The L5 ltd is also easy for both myself (6'1) and my wife (5'2) to adjust quickly between us for customized individual use.
I hope this honest review helps others who are trying to find back pain relief, delay or even avoid spinal surgery or simply want to beat age or accident related spinal problems that could arise in your years to come. I wish I had started using it many years earlier. I believe I could have kept my disc hydrated with this device and the current deterioration may not have ever progressed as it did. It is amazing how much the body can heal itself if given the right natural assistance such as the L5 Ltd unit does.
Lastly; I would like to thank Teeter Hang-ups for this near miracle Contour L5 Ltd device and their quality of product and customer service. They were very helpful during my research and final purchase and offered expert advise for getting started on the right foot.
- Love My Teeter
I tried out a friend's Ironman inversion table and then did some research. I went with the Teeter based on reviews and I'm very happy with this purchase. It was fairly easy to assemble and I must say the directions are the best I have ever come across when putting something together. There was even QR codes that I could click on with my phone that showed how to do each step of the process. I have now been inverting about twice a day for two weeks and my back feels great. The one thing that bugs me is that my right ankle is tighter in the ankle support when I invert, which is not the product's fault - it's my leg's fault. I'm almost surprised there's not an adjustment for this.
